About this project
Robbit is a heavily customized Minecraft mod pack. It was developed as the official mod pack for Asterion Minecraft between 2012 and 2015. The core focus of Robbit was to build a game that was simple to install, fun to play, easy to learn, and well balanced.
In addition to including many different popular mods, Robbit also has a large amount of custom content, with many new blocks, items and features which were not present in the original game. Development of custom content for Robbit was the primary focus of the Ginever Alliance during the 2012-2015 time period, and this is notably visible in the unique construction of the mod pack.
Asterion Minecraft was somewhat notable during its operation for prioritizing the needs of the server over the desires of the mod authors. Many of the mods in the pack were modified and distributed without consent from the modders (or even against their direct wishes) in order to build a game that met the server's requirements. The constant licensing battle with Minecraft mods (and the resulting chaos within the Minecraft community) has subsequently directly influenced the design of future Ginever Entertainment software EULAs in an attempt to stop these issues existing within the community that mods and plays Ginever Entertainment titles.
Versions of Robbit
Each major release coincided with a major release of Minecraft, starting with 1.3. Each new major release was named after a different cake, incrementing alphabetically in a fashion inspired by both Ubuntu and Android:
1.3 - Angel Cake
1.4 - Battenberg
1.5 - Chocolate Muffin
1.6 - Delicious Doughnut
1.7 - Exciting Eclair
After the closedown of Asterion Minecraft, the final version of Exciting Eclair was published as Robbit: Legacy Edition (version 26.1.1, rev 4053). This continues to be the final official version of the pack.
Following the release of the Legacy Edition, work was done to unofficially update the pack to work with small private servers. Some extra mods were also integrated. This updated version was published internally as the Robbit Fondant Fancy bleeding edge preview, although it is not considered an official or stable build of the mod pack.
How do I play Robbit?
The mod pack can be installed and played using Robbit Launcher 3 which can be found in the downloads system.
The issue tracker for this project exists for archival purposes only. Robbit is no longer developed or supported, and is indefinitely stuck on Minecraft 1.7.10, which is now seriously outdated. The pack is still available to download (along with the Asterion Minecraft map archive) explicitly for reminiscing purposes (e.g. to open old world files) due to map files from Robbit not being compatible with other mod packs; it is also there for those curious to see what we used to make. It is not recommended for long term or serious use and is unlikely to receive any significant updates or improvements in the long term.
