Who will win the 2012 election?
Who should win the election?

What do you think is/ should be the political fate of the U.S.?

I'm going to vote for Ron Paul because he is the least crazy candidate.

I reckon Barack Obama could pull it off. Not that I'm certain. Hopefully someone left of Thatcher will get in.

WELL I would love a Clinton presidency, but I'm going to have to say either Obama or Perry will be elected.

I think Obama and Perry will be the main contenders.
If i could choose any candidate, Id have to choose between the moderate-liberal candidate (Obama) or the closest-to-libertarian candidate (Ron Paul)

Also TREVOR I know that you don't like Obama and I can't figure out why. You dont really appear to have any solid reasons for why you dont like him, except that hes black, and I know you aren't serious about that. Could you please actually come up with some concrete reasons why he shouldnt be elected? He seems like a decent president, particularly in how he handles foreign policy and the republican/democrat divide in politics.

I dont know, I think Obama is one of those presidents who really have nothing defining about their term in office and that is his weakness, so far he has managed to NOT end the 2 unpopular wars and has now started a third!

I think I should be the next president (or Schwarzenegger.)

Anywho, Obama is a very weak leader. He is finally doing now what he should have done on day 1 of his presidency. 3 years later.

actually i must correct myself, it was in fact dear mr Cameron who came up with the idea of a no fly zone, however thanks to damn NATO you guys inevitably ended up involved. We hatched it with the French. See, this is the cost of being a super power in the 21st century.

Anti-matter or black hole guns would be more terrorizing.

Ah, but a nuke is just so much cheaper. We could make a handheld laser gun (probably...) but modern technology as is, it's cheaper to use conventional arms.

The size of a small pickup. The laser has not only been field tested, it has proved highly effective in downing missiles and planes. In fact, their is a Stryker configuration carrying and anti-air laser, which is how I saw it demoed. And you can be certain the military has better ones that they just aren't showing us ATM.

Not much further than Archimedes if certain historical tales are to be believed. He is said to have invented the death ray by focusing light from the sun on Roman ship using a lot of mirrors, and setting fire to them.
Sadly there's not much evidence that he did do this.

However, the US navy have got the bad weather version working fine.

Obama will win this time around, then in four years the republican party will pull out their big guns.
I'm not going to vote. Then I can complain.
People say you can't complain if you don't vote.
Well, I say if you vote, then you're part of the system.
Politicians who don't change the system continue to get elected.
The moral of the story is: You can't trust the system.

isn't Ron Paul arguably the most crazy candidate? (assuming crazy=radical ideas)

They are all playing dumb, sadly. Its the only way to get elected. Lie about knowing how the world works, lie about what you used to believe, tell them what they want to hear.

There's a rather drole video on the onion where a group of pundits pander to the punters in REAL TIME, a running graph showing the audience's opinion of them.

They are all playing dumb, sadly. Its the only way to get elected. Lie about knowing how the world works, lie about what you used to believe, tell them what they want to hear.
Spewing political banter is counterproductive. This country is full of uneducated, unintelligent people (and those who aren't are mildly unsatisfied and don't know what they want).
The way to run a country is to tell people what they want, then say you're going to give it to them. Give huge rewards for good behavior and small punishments every so often.
The Individual as president probably doesn't matter. I know nothing of Ron Paul, but he does symbolize the things I prefer.
I know that if someone horrible as gingrich is elected, it will be fine with me, because eventually America will get tired of incompetant southerners ruling them.
The president will be JUST good enough to keep you mildly unsatisfied and controllable. His position is symbolic for the most part.

For the record, I believe many Ron Paul followers don't usually vote, which means he may have a pretty good chance. He won't be elected though.

I'm thinking that if Santorum wins the Republican Primaries Obama is guaranteed the win.

I'm thinking anyone besides Romney would give obama the win, at least romney is more moderate than the others.

Romney won't win. Furthermore, the republicans are talking about throwing the election if Santorum wins the primaries.
