I have spent today making improvements to the skinning engine. Most of the non-standard customisations to the IP.Board skin now load from a separate stylesheet, which can be used to override previously defined rules.
The main benefit of these changes is that it is now incredibly easy to add new skins, because I can now force newly installed skins to inherit the overriden rules in a few minutes (rather than having to spend hours making edits).
To demonstrate, the LightBasic skin has been kindly ported to the new site by its author. It should be available for public use, but like the dark skin it is currently experimental.
Those of you who have used the site prior to this announcement and currently have issues with the board's skin should clear their browser cache.

I have added "Web 3.2" to the skin selection, since it was free and doesn't look bad. My skin override worked immediately with no issues.

There is a partially functional Mobile Skin which automatically loads if you are using an iOS or Android based smartphone. It might also load on Blackberry devices, but I don't own one to test that.

I do not own any of the above. LowFi skin was epic as it allows me to access the site on my phone, PSP or DSi. BRING BACK LOFI!!!

The site's lo-fidelity version (known as 'lo-fi') hasn't existed since 2009 and it isn't possible to re-introduce because it was discontinued with the release of IPB 3.0.0. I don't see why you'd want to use it anyway, since it was a read-only version of the site that didn't allow log-in or posting!
The MobileSkin, if it doesn't auto-load, can be accessed from the theme selector in the bottom left corner, and was designed to replace lo-fi completely (it has a lot more functionality than lo-fi ever did). I just checked, and it is assigned to automatically override your skin setting if you have any of the following user agent types: Android, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod Touch, Sony Ericsson Mobile Device, Nokia Mobile Device, Motorola Mobile Device, Samsung Mobile Device, Siemens Openwave Mobile Device, Nexus Google HTC Mobile Device, LG Mobile Device, Palm, Opera Mini, WebTV
I'm sure the DSi comes under Opera Mini, and your phone should be covered too hopefully.
