And even if for some morbid reason you did like the freezing weather, you should remember that the US is incredibly geographically diverse-- you could live in a place that gets incredibly cold in the winter and still has moderate summers.

I guess our taxes are higher and that it's harder to move here and get a job, so on so on, but, that all goes into something. We're not all bad, it just trades off. We've got all sorts of beautiful places a short drive or road trip away, we've got the beach, we've got big houses that are cheap right now, wonderful people(really depends on location), and countless other things.
It's really up to you I guess. Because Canada does have a lot of things over the US. But we'd rather you move here, or something, because that'd be more convenient for us. Not convenient for us to have to drive to Canada through Twilight fan haven.

I kinda don't like the image California gives off most of the time either, that we're all just sun-baked party-goers who get drunk every night and put neon signs all over our cities and so forth (that's an exaggeration and I'm sure Kian will bring out the "blub blub why do you hate California blub truck") truth is I don't hate California, it's just the incredible location and geography and so on. post to be continued, im not done

Although the standard of living is ok, unemployment is huge, around 12%, and that's just the number of people registered as unemployed.
Money isn't really going into the improvement of our infrastructure.
If you want to pay for overpriced, unnecessarily large/powerful vehicles and buildings, the U.S. is great because you have no other options unless you really work at it.
Canada is where intelligent young americans go during times of military draft.
Canada is where free thinking americans go to buy marijuana.
When you say "border patrol", I'm thinking southwestern U.S. and Mexico, not Northern U.S. and Canada.
Here in Califonia, with a population of about 50 million and over half speaking spanish, you better know spanish.
Elk Grove's crime is rising, and for all of you who live in the area, you know exactly what I'm talking about when I say "Stockton". It's Wild Wild West. Guerrilla warfare.
Oh and I almost forgot to mention the war on meth in the area too.
As for medicine, we prefer pills. And other simple methods of acheiving good health while we are oblivious to what it is. I think like 80% of adults in the U.S. are overweight.
I've read of american travelers going around the world with canadian flags sewn onto their backpacks because it can be dangerous to let others know you're american.
Just a little perspective on world view.
My view is that there are many great points to the U.S. in relationship to other areas of the world. For one example; there have been many wars fought on european soil but only a handful here.

My point is that you aren't going to be perfectly happy with any country. But america, which has thousands of universities, dozens of states to choose from and a history as one of the most free and stable countries in the world is close enough for most people.

You don't HAVE to know Spanish and be a California resident, it's just pretty useful. I learned German instead of spanish in High School because I really *--------------------------------*(racist statement). But anyways, yeah. It's hard to argue when you have deserts, beautiful mountains, lakes/reservoirs, rivers, river rafting, massive cities, the beach, the snow, the Grand Canyon, San Fran, Vegas, and LA just a road trip or a short flight away.
There is nothing more freaking fun in my opinion than a road trip, especially on abandoned, disused highways in the Western US. Me and my dad have made 2 big trips to Bonneville in Utah with the Durango in the last few years, and we've probably consumed about a small country's worth of petroleum doing it, but you see so much scenery and pass so many interesting sites and small towns.
But-that's just me. I was kinda... born here, so I am a bit biased towards my own country, but, meh. I am a bit irritated at the fact that I can't simply apply to a local retail outlet and expect a possible job in return, because of how bad employment is. If it got that bad, and another country was better, then I would consider moving.

Yeah, America gives off this image and standpoint you may not want to be associated with, but there's way more to America than that. I'm not just talking about goods and market now, I'm talking about housing and living. Houses are dirt-cheap because of the mortgage crisis, I think someone could bring some of their money with them and start living it up. However-California houses in particular are still high dollar, however I'm not sure you'd like to live in central Nevada.

Also-I'd imagine a mini-Canada wouldn't be much different from the rest of the city, just... driving or walking into the mini canada, it'd start snowing, you'd hear everyone say "Eh?" At the end of everything, and the whole place would be lined with maple syrup shops.

Canada does not have a better history, you just probably haven't studied ours as much as yours. Our 19th century was pretty bad ass.
As to "sky height" versus America: 2011 - Canada's economy grew 2.2%, United States' 1.7%. Not that much different. Nor to speak of the relative sizes... 15 Canadas is one United States.

When he said Canada was more french i was thinking that he was saying the majority of it was french speaking, which is false. As Canada was first formed from the British North America Act, which naturally means most of the population was english speaking as its the BNA act, not the FNA act.
