Hello!
I would like to announce that the site's 3.1 Seasonal Skin has recently been ported to 3.2.x (aka Ginever.net v4.0) and I've managed to get it reinstalled for free.
The skin is currently in beta because there are a few unpolished areas, but it would be great if people who like dark skins could test it.

I fail to see how a Minecraft skin is Seasonal. Where are all the Christmas colours and reindeers?

The background of the Seasonal Skin depends entirely on what time of year it is. In the middle of December, the background will be changed to some sort of Christmas theme and snow added. At Easter, you are likely to see easter eggs as the background. And so on and so forth.
Right now there is no significant celebration occurring, so the background really depends on what's happening with the GSA itself. E.g. when I was doing PPSE, the skin was changed to say "The Ginever PILLOW, helping you to cope with extreme sleep deprivation since May 2011". And when Crimson was the main focus of the site, we had a crimson-backed Pokéball skin. Right now the main focuses are Asterion and Spellmaster, so the skin reflects that.
