Also, this shoutbox is NOT for moaning or bitching about your Minecraft experiences. I don't want to hear "waa waa X griefed my base waa waa X nicked Y waa waa". You have been warned! - Rob
MDC : (Sunday 20 May 2012, 06:25:59 PM) Indeed there is no point anyone using this site because the general consensus seems to be "If its not written by Rob I dont have to read it, even if the instructions state specifically to read it"

Paulipede is the name given to a basic clone of Atari's "Centipede", programmed by Robert Dennington in 2011. The game was originally built for a coursework assignment using the Teesside University School of Computing PRG Library, under the name "Sort of like Centipede".

It has recently been ported to a development branch of GinENGINE, and is now available for testing.

This is the first GinENGINE-powered game which has been released, and as a result, any issues with the game should be immediately reported to the GinENGINE bug tracker.

Paulipede is released under the terms of the Ginever Community License, which is bundled with the download.

Visual C++ Runtimes and DirectX:
If you are unable to launch the game after first downloading it, you may need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

You may also require d3dx9_43.dll, which can be obtained by updating your DirectX Runtimes using the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.

Important Note:
If you are upgrading from a previous version of Paulipede, it is strongly advised that you delete everything except "resources/centipede.hst" from your Paulipede folder before you extract the new version into it. This will ensure that no unwanted files from the old version are left behind after the upgrade.

What's New in Version 1.2.0.0 (See full changelog)

  • Updated the game to use the latest build of GinENGINE (SVN r16-new).
  • The default presentation mode is now CHRONOMETER, which is set to a cap of 60 fps.
  • It is no longer necessary to import graphicpixel.ttf from the resources/fonts folder before playing the game for the first time.
